Our customer was complaining about poor hot-start ability, chugging at low revs and sometimes stalling at traffic lights. He was frustrated that his Fiat 500 was not feeling too good, so I was called to investigate. After checking all the engine settings, and even making a few adjustments, it appeared that the carburetter needed a complete overhaul.
Being such a small item in this case, even the slightest bit of grime or dirt will affect the way the engine runs.
So I stripped it not only to give it a good clean, but also to replace a worn butterfly shaft, letting in un-metered air.

After refitting to the car with a new set of gaskets, the fun part of re-setting the engine begins…
A happy customer now enjoys a healthy 500 again!
