Removing the « orange peel effect » on a freshly repainted BMW E24 nose. The final result of this demanding process is extremely satisfying. The surface is once again completely smooth, and the colour has retrieved its full depth and shine.
You can clearly see that the orange peel has a rugged surface, making the colour very dull. After the careful process of wet sanding by hand with very fine grit sandpaper, the surface has become flat once again. The next step is to progressively polish the paint with a random orbit polisher and the adequate compound to restore a nice smooth, deep and shiny aspect.
This process takes time and great care, but the final result is just stunning, and well worth the effort.
